As is sometimes the case with these starter kits, the Rincoe MechMan is something of a mixed bag. In this case, reviewers raved about the mod while finding the tank to be mediocre at best. For their reasons, let’s start with the issues they found with the tank.

Flavor. Across the board, reviewers said the flavor was decent, but unremarkable, while reviewers were also split on which coil they preferred. Generally, they liked the dual mesh better although DJLsb preferred the single coil. Either way, the flavor was nothing special. The tank also features a drip tip which doesn’t match the mod’s style and color scheme. On the other hand, airflow was relatively smooth.

That having been said, the mod was largely enjoyed by the reviewers. The fact that it had zero play on the battery door came up frequently, as did the overall build quality of the device. As one reviewer put it, this is a simple, no-nonsense brick of a box mod which harkens back to the olden days. Where manufacturers are more and more leaning into sleeker, more plasticky designs, this solid metal device is much appreciated.

This sturdiness is appreciated, especially given one of its primary cons which is that it tips over easily. The bottom is, for some reason, narrower than the body of the device, making it prone to falling over. DJLsb, known for meticulously checking the electronics in his reviews, notes that the mod is also significantly underpowered and prone to extremely erratic wattage waves, which can account for some of the unevenness of the vape hit.

On the other hand, reviewers noted that the temperature control Is decent and the menus are easy to navigate. One quick issue with the display, however, is that it’s a bit on the dim side, making it unideal for usage outdoors. Finally, the smaller size of this mod means that it’s only going to look good with atomizers smaller than 26mm, which may be a dealbreaker for some.

At the end of the day, if you’re looking for a rugged, incredibly solid, and well-built box mod, the MechMan is the device for you. You may not be a huge fan of the tank either, but if you’ve got another <26mm atomizer laying around, this kit might be worth picking up all the same.
