Conclusion

While a lot of reviewers are hesitant to issue a firm thumbs-up or thumbs-down on products, the consensus on the AVP seems pretty clear: these guys (and gals) like it.

The AVP received top marks across the board for its solid battery life, excellent construction, and classic appearance. Reviewers also had a generally positive experience with the flavor production, although nearly all of them suggested using the system only on its two highest wattage settings.

The fill system seems to be a point of contention for reviewers, however, as they expressed divided opinions on its utility. While they largely agreed that a press-to-fill system is a good idea, they tended to have some strong feelings regarding its implementation. As seen in some of the videos, it’s very easy to create a mess with this kind of system, and its recessed location can make it pretty hard to clean. Also seen in these videos, however, is how minor an issue that was in the long run. The other major downside is that the AVP tends to provide a looser MTL draw than some other devices. As reviewers noted, tight vs. loose MTL draws are largely a matter of personal preference, so the extra airflow and loose draw may not necessarily be a checkmark in the “con” column for everyone.

Overall, the AVP is a great pod system with some excellent features and top-notch flavor production for those who don’t mind a more airy MTL draw and have no issue navigating the pitfalls of a press-to-fill system.
